Polyethylene film, acrylic, 2017
"The Curtain" is the continuation and further development of the artist's project "Next", which tells stories, in which the main characters are characteristically painted houses equipped with various means for movement. Each story tells about urban, historical and social processes. Windows are painted from the inside thereby changing the real view in a metaphorical one. In the center of the story for the festival "48 hours" is the problem of gentrification in Neukölln. The graphic itself acts as a falling curtain, exposing the problems of the city. In the real view from the window, the processes are in shadow. The painting sheds light and illuminates those problem areas.
